Vagen
I found this pic, and well, just had to share.
Vanilla Workshop: SpeedVagen.
Oh mama, would I love to race this!
This bike is sporting a SRAM Force group, Paul Brakes, Deda Bar and stem, Hand built tubular wheels with King hubs, and Reflex CD tubular rims. Fork is an Alpha Q CX 20 painted to match the custom Vanilla Workshop frame. All bizness.
I especially like the backdrop, it’s sitting in the window, as if it can’t wait to get out…..
commute 3/11/08
Greetings Readers!
Well, I knew it was coming…
Typically after a weekend of lots of miles, and or lots of climbs, I usually rest on Monday. It’s that 1st day back on the bike after the rest day that’s pretty tough on the legs, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this bad. I had a horrible commute, it was as if somebody put my bike in a pool and tied sandbags to my legs, then told me to ride through it. I was doggin it, big time.
Of course in true fashion Karma was with me today as my pal Speedy showed up behind me at that same stoplight. “How’s it going Amigo?” Great, I’m thinking to myself, nice timing Speedy. “You want me to kick your ass today Amigo?” Uhh, no thanks Speedy, not today. “You look tired Amigo” Uh, I did a big ride Sunday Speedy, legs are tired today. “Ahh, that’s good no? Good for you to suffer” Speedy grins that little grin like the Chesire Cat, I know what he’s thinking… “toughin up girly man! C’mon lets go, you can keep up” Nope, no can do Speedy, not today.
Speedy rides off, bored. No one to toy with today on the ride home, poor Speedy. Sorry to let you down Bra, don’t have it today.
So, what to do? I’ve written in a few posts about this plateau I feel like I’m in, there’s nothing to do, put to continue to ride. I need to pay close attention to those factors, sleep and nutrition. I’ve been through this before and although intensely frustrating, I hope to get past it soon and look forward to that next level of fitness. Be patient Jim, it will come. Don’t get too jacked up to get in top shape too early, cross isn’t until October. Keep riding, get those base miles and stay on track. It’s only going to get harder as the intensity work starts up in a few months. Eye on the prize Jim, eye on the prize.
